Lisible terms of use
Last updated October 7, 2026.
Lisible is a free Mac app made by Franck Debane. By downloading or using it, you accept these terms. Questions: lisible@debane.org.
Using Lisible
You may use Lisible for free, for personal or professional work, on as many Macs as you like. You may not sell it, rent it, or share modified copies of it. Please share the link to debane.org/lisible rather than the app itself: copies from elsewhere can’t be checked against my signature.
Lisible includes open-source components under their own licenses. Their notices ship with the app, in the file THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt.
Your files
Your notes remain yours. Lisible reads and saves the files you open, and saves your changes as you type. Keep backups of the files that matter to you, as you would with any editor.
Updates
With your agreement, Lisible checks for updates and installs them. Only an update that carries my signature will install. I may change Lisible, or stop distributing it, at any time.
Donations
Donations are optional. They don’t buy a license, a feature or support, and Lisible stays free for everyone. Stripe processes them on its own payment page.
No warranty
Lisible is provided as is, without any warranty. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using it, including lost or damaged files. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Changes and applicable law
These terms may change; the date at the top shows the latest version. They are governed by French law.
