Beware of the HIPPOs
Hugh Molotsi explains why Intuit avoids HiPPO decisions, taken on the highest paid person's opinion, like the hippo, the most dangerous animal of the savannah. In its idea jams, customers rather than executives judge the ideas, investing play money in their favourites, and teams are rewarded for the real-world data they collect, because the best-presented idea is rarely the best idea.
