Elia Freedman answers Redfin's CEO Glenn Kelman, who blamed the lean startup for killing big ideas: the first iPhone was itself a minimum viable product, with few apps, no copy and paste, no notifications and no Exchange support, a trial balloon built to test clear hypotheses, such as whether people would accept a phone without a keyboard.
