To Innovate Like a Startup, Make Decisions Like VCs Do
This Harvard Business Review article (May 2018) argues that large companies adopting lean startup methods get only half of the model right. Successful innovation hubs combine an entrepreneurial side, which discovers, validates and develops new businesses, with a venture side, which manages them as a portfolio. The authors propose a “growth board” of senior executives who meet regularly to fund or stop initiatives, as venture capitalists do.
