At the Lean Startup Conference 2013, Toyota engineers Matt Kresse and Vinuth Rai explained how they used lean startup methods to prototype and iterate on a new in-car entertainment system. Although lean startup comes from the Toyota production system, their software development still followed a waterfall that took three years and heard from customers only once the car was on sale.
